About Carers to you
About – Ginny’s story
The UK is on the brink of a care crisis. The need for domiciliary care has never been greater, is growing year-on-year and yet the quality of home care provision on the whole is nowhere near what it should be.
I know this first hand as I’ve experienced life as both a care service user and provider. Back in 2004 I was diagnosed with leukaemia. The care I was given made me feel like just a number. I felt neglected and unsupported by the health services and let down by the entire medical system as a whole.
As an agency worker providing care services I was shocked by how some companies operate. I was sent to different customers every day, sometimes even double booked, and given inadequate time allowances to travel from customer to customer.
The whole set up was about quantity rather than quality, treating customers as revenue streams rather than human beings.
It’s these eye-opening experiences – as well as my 11 years of domiciliary care expertise, end of life and health and social care qualifications – that drove me to establish Carers to you.
I wanted to do things differently, creating a company that has a central commitment to put people first, delivering care throughout my local community with compassion.
I am passionate about giving customers comfort in familiarity, which is why we assign a dedicated care team to each individual we support.
I believe in anchoring the care we provide with excellent time-keeping and a keen focus on dignity and respect. It’s these values that led to the creation of the Carers to you four-point care promise.
All of the Carers to you carers share my vision of quality care and are employed by me as much for their excellent care skills as they are for their compassion, sensitivity, pride in their vocation and dedication to the overall wellbeing of the people they are entrusted to care for.
I’d love to discuss your care needs. Please feel free to contact me at any time for a free care consultation. I can call you at a time that’s convenient to you or arrange a home visit if you’d prefer.
